Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, launched to make quality medicines affordable and accessible to all. 📌 1. Eligibility Criteria

You can apply if you are:
✅ An individual entrepreneur (including pharmacists or doctors)
✅ A registered NGO / Trust / Society / Cooperative / Charitable Institution
✅ A Government or Government-nominated agency / hospital
👉 Individuals usually need a D. Pharma/B. Pharma qualification, or must employ a qualified pharmacist (B. Pharma/D. Pharma) to operate the store.

📌 2. Space & Location Requirements

✔ Minimum shop space: 120 sq. ft. (owned or rented with a valid lease agreement) Jan Aushadhi Store
✔ The location should have good visibility and accessibility — hospitals or areas with high footfall are preferred.
✔ Lease agreements must usually be valid for at least 3 years.

📌 3. Licences & Professional Requirements

📌 4. Documentation Required

📌 5. Financial Requirements

💰 Application Fee: Around ₹5,000 (non-refundable) — exemptions apply for women, Divyang (persons with disabilities), SC/ST, ex-servicemen, and aspirational/Himalayan/Northeastern areas with proof. 
💼 You must also demonstrate financial capacity to run and stock the store (bank statements, audited accounts, or loan sanction letters).

📌 6. Shop Setup & Infrastructure

Though less strictly enforced, the guidelines recommend:

  • Good interior layout (U or C shape for visibility) 

  • Storage infrastructure ensuring proper temperature (AC preferable) 

  • Billing and POS system (may use BPPI software) 

📌 7. How to Apply

The application is made to the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) through the relevant government portal or as notified on the official scheme website. Ensure all documents are correctly filled and the application fee is paid as required.
